So I just realized why they warn you about eating around/ over your keyboard. I was eating a doughnut that Marty brought in for the pitch-in at work today and unbeknownst to me, icing was dripping out the other end. It landed in between the keys and down in the bottom of the keyboard where no Quiznos napkin could reach. Now letters T, Y, K, I, and J are a little gooey on top. Hmmm.... what cleaning agent would be safe to use?
Speaking of messes, my car was a disaster. I got done working out yesterday and went to put my sneakers in the trunk and confirmed what Shaun had told me... my trunk was quite stinky. I don't know what was in there, and have been trying to avoid finding out. But yesterday I was certain the smell was leaching into the car and something had to be done about it. (I was turning into Ryan and Wes with have eaten dinners and old laundry in my car). So... I got out my new Dirt Devil Hand Vac and headed to the car... full steam ahead. I took an empty trash bag that had been living in my glove compartment and began filling it with gum wrappers and napkins, old tennis balls and melted deodorant. (That was just the car). Then I opened the feared trunk. I found papers as old as Jan 2003. I had put on my spare tire in I don't know.... March, and had never bothered to piece the jack and tired back together and secure it down - now finished. Tons of dirty laundry including some of Ryan's dirty underwear and socks. I took this bait and tackle box I won and comprised a "car kit" consisting of a wrench, some tie down strappy things and various other items. I took my jumper cables that I had used sometime this winter and neatly put them back in the bag they came it. So now all that is in my trunk is 2 tennis rackets, my golf clubs and cart, my car kit, jumper cables, and my gas can... you just never know.

Jet Setter
I have been called a "Jet Setter" twice this weekend. I think this is quite odd considering I've never heard the phrase before. Anyway, Shaun and I (and 10 other random people that know Charity and Steve) flew/drove/rode to New Orleans this weekend. Shaun and I flew and had a connecting flight in Houston. All four flights were ahead of schedule amazingly enough. The weekend was interesting to say the least though. Friday I forgot my wallet at work and had to drive 40 minutes out of our way to get it. That put us at the airport at 10 for our 10:45 flight. We had a record check-in (no line), got coffee, passed through security and arrived at the gate by 10:10. Land in New Orleans, get checked-in to find Steve forgot his cell phone in VA... minor debacle. Two of the guys that drove Ed and Denny, their car broke down a block before the hotel, and they pushed it into a FREE parking space. Dan and Jen paid $50 for valet and their car got broken into. Ed and Denny's car hadn't been touched. Due to Dan and Jen's fiasco, we had to take a psycho driving cab to the airport to arrive at 3:50 for out 4:32 flight. Nothing like cutting it close. Overall though, I had a great time, and was glad to see Charity and Steve did too. Next time I go I would like to check out more of the jazz clubs and such. But at least I can say I tried a Hurricane and a Hand Grenade. (They were quite gross).

Wedding Blues
So, my friend Stef found her wedding dress yesterday. She is very excited to say the least. I will be a bridesmaid in her wedding on July 2, 2005. Then I will be able to start the tradition of "always a bridesmaid, never a bride." I was going to wear a sage green dress, but apparently after yesterday's shopping adventures, I get to wear a light banana colored dress. That will be much better I think.
Shaun is at my apt. attempting to bake a cake for me that I need for the PC party I'm doing tonight. Hopefully it will turn out well.
I got a picture of Sam and I by the Christmas Tree to put in a picture frame I was give by the National President Katherine Morris. It is next to my phone and looks quite cute. Well, need to hurry so I can get home and see my sweetie.

He Lives!!!
Well, I saw Shaun last night in the flesh and blood. I'm so excitied. He is coming into work today to meet my friends from work. We are going to the Living Room Lounge. A little restaurant downtown off a little alley. Currently I'm eating a bagel for our intern's last day. Jenny went down to get it and I'm eating the other half. I didn't feel like going downstairs, and I have a lot of work to do. I'm trying to do some of tomorrow's work too as I'll be in... NEW ORLEANS. I'm so excited. Oh, speaking of travelling. Shaun asks me yesterday what my feelings are on White Water Rafting. I give him an odd look and say cautiously, why? Then he says Charity and Steve are going to PA for Labor Day weekend and are going White Water Rafting. I fianlly agree, and then we pulls out the kicker. Suddenly I have to go camping too! I've been tricked! Alas, I already said I would go so it's too late. I feel like I've done more travelling in the last 2 months than in the last 2 years!

Only 1 more day!
So, the countdown to Shaun's arrival is nearing an end! Last I talked to him he was in Illinois and should be home in about a 1/2 hour! I am so excited to see him I could burst. Instead I'm eating Cheeze-it's and Starburst. Today has been more productive than yesterday although not nearly as productive as I've been. I did manage to rearrange the entire tub packing list that my boss had created and wasn't helpful at all. Needless to say, convention is coming soon, and I'm almost ready for it. A nice feeling. Carol has had her phone on Do Not disturb all day so she can get some work done. Unlike me who is begging for someone to call me so I can stop packing tubs. Alas. I'm' trying Peanut M&M's. They are quite tasty, but a little sweet. I'm trying to learn more about Access so that I can create my own database for genealogy. Well, off to do more work.

I think I'm addicted
So, I got to sleep in BOTH Saturday AND Sunday this weekend. This marks the first time in I don't remember when. I am so excited! Saturday was quite productive as my friend Beth stopped by b/c I forgot my food chopper at her home the night before and then we started chatting. I then did another PC party at 2pm. This one proved to be slightly less successful than the first, but we have not collected all of her outside orders yet. Then, I came home and organized and cleaned my apt. for the rest of the evening. I settled in with a little TV and a movie... course I can't remember for the life of me what I watched. Anyway, then Sunday I slept in, and did absolutely NOTHING until 4pm. I lied around, ate some food and watched Felicity reruns. I realized as I was searching for my favorite episodes and wondering why I hadn't seen the one that was playing. I realized it's because I hadn't had a chance to watch the entire 2nd season yet! Dear heavens. What a catatrophy. So, this has become my new mission in the next 2 days before Shaun gets back Wed! YEA! Which I think pretty much means I'm addicted. I've actually been thinking about Felicity all day while trying to avoid doing real work. Then Beth today offered to let me come to her place to do laundry and save some quarters! How awesome is that! Carol and Walt are coming over for dinner tonight, so I better get going.

Clueless Moment
So, I'm nearing the end of my work day yesterday and I'm trying to run some mailing labels. For once, I decide to check these labels against what is known as the "Red Book." The Red Book is a collection of "important" people in the organization and their contact information. So, I'm looking back and forth between the Red Book and my computer screen where Access has so kindly generated labels for me and I'm realizing they are not matching. So, I call Beth, the Red Book lady, and I'm like, "Beth, what's going on here, I don't understand??" This is says so-and-so is a such and so chairman in the Red Book but the computer says something else!" Beth says, "I don't know, I've been having problems with Access today. Why don't you try and update it again." So, I update again, and same problem. I call Beth back, and she says, wait a minute... what year are you looking at? Um..... 2002-2003. Needless to say, we both erupt in laughter for nearly 2 minutes as I realize I've been using last years Red Book since I started here in April. I'm such a dork.

Good -bye Samantha
So, today is Sam's last day at work. I am sad because she is one of the 2 people a track down to complain about my day at work. She is also one of the 2 rational and down to earth people here. Now, Carol and I will have to cling to each other for some state of normalcy. Sam hates pitch-in's, especially those held in her honor. So what does the ALA do? We have a breakfast pitch-in for her at 9:30. Of course that is too late in the morning for her to wait to eat, but in order for all the stragglers of the office to be included, we have to wait until then. I am supposed to be down there right now, and instead I'm writing this. I really don't have a desire to watch people pretend to care that my friend and confidant is leaving. So, I'd rather stay up here, and go down later and eat leftovers.
So, I wish Sam good luck with her teaching career which I know will be fabulous and so will she. Good-bye Sam and good luck. I will miss you greatly. For it is your "fault" that I'm working here in the first place :) Not to mention the sole reason I have this blog. Thank you so much for all your kind words, advice, and listening to me nag about work and all the old biddies affiliated with it. You truly are a great friend and I look forward to many more fun times together.... Preferably without screaming, diving children.

Moments Unblogged
So, I'm talking with Sam last night after an eventful swimming trip, and realized I have been missing out on some great blogging opportunities. This is very tragic indeed. So, I have decided today to create several blogs that will remedy this disaster. Hope you enjoy.
Calling 911
So, a few weeks ago I'm lying in bed around 10:30 pm and Krystal has already gone to bed as well. We hear the doorbell ring followed by several knocks, no pounds on the door. I yell out to her and ask if she is expecting anyone. She says no, I say no... this is a little creepy. Five minutes later they are still there knocking and yelling and at this point we are starting to get scared, so we call 911. The lady is very rude to Krystal and says to her... "what exactly is the emergency?" Uh, hello... should be wait until we are being raped or stabbed before we call you back??? What the hell? So, these 2 police officers come and say they are glad we called and they did think it was an emergency. They also mentioned she was new and would have to calm down... good thing we moved out of there.
Here are the keys to your new home...
So, I went to Pebble Point to get my keys to the new humble abode. I obtain the "walk through" checklist and proceed to my apt. As soon as I walk in I realize there is a water stain on the ceiling of the living room... and the bedroom... and the furnace closet. Hmm. There is an overall sloppy painting job done. My toilet isn't flushing. The inside of the oven is coming apart. The new carpeting isn't fully tacked down. Oh, and the hot water heater is still on "light" instead of a temperature setting. (Can we say fire hazard??) So, I march down to the office and request another one bedroom. The manager comes out and I explain the things I've seen to her. She comes to the apt. with me and call Cecil (the toothless maintenance guy) to come immediately and access the situation. Apparently the guy upstairs was on vacation for a week and his air conditioning starting leaking. Well, since he wasn't there, and no one was in my apt, no one knew about it and it leaked into my apt and soaked his carpeting. Alas, they offered to fix everything that was wrong if I'd stay and reminded me I was getting a George Foreman Grill for free. (They sure know the way to this girl's heart). So, to find out this isn't just a little grill... no it's a 12 hamburger grill. This thing is enormous and I'm not sure what to do with it as I'm sure it won't fit in my kitchen ANYWHERE. So, for now it's still in the box in the storage unit off my patio. At least it was free :)

All Done!!
Well, my huge project at work is finally all finsished and out the door. I finished up a bunch of loose ends around the office. And and I found time to eat a drumstick. A co-worker informed me that she went on a diet and was only eating 11 carbs perday. That's obsurd. I eat more than that for breakfast. Course that could explain a few things... I had a garage sale this weekend... ultra productive.. at least for Charity anyway. I came home with a "few" things. Shaun said if I came home with more than I left with I'm in trouble. (Maybe he won't notice they new items....) Played golf and got a tan yesterday with Charity. We played pretty well. And... got a tan. All missions accomplished. Well, I finally feel like things are coming together. Yippie!
